Jaws 0.5 Released
The first stable release of Jaws 0.5 has now been released!
Jaws 0.5 - She's Famous Now
This is the first stable release in the 0.5 series, which provides a major
redesign of the Jaws system.
For installation instructions please see the INSTALL file, which will tell
you what needs to be done. If you're upgrading from 0.4 use the UPGRADING file
instead.
New Gadgets
Static Page, Poll, FAQ, RSS Reader, Visit Counter, and Search gadgets have all been added for this release. Most of the other gadgets have also been redesigned to provide easier use.
Cleaner Control Panel
The control panel has been changed, and now offers simple gadget installation - just drop a gadget into your gadgets directory, and hit the "Enable" button.
Installer & Upgrader
You can now use the Jaws installer to setup you're website, or to upgrade from 0.4, from the comfort of your web browser.
Trackbacks
The blog gadget can now send and receive trackbacks, allowing you to comment on other people's sites from your own.
New Default Theme
A new theme has been designed for this release, making things look nicer!
Gravatar Support
Gravatars (www.gravatar.com) are now supported throughout Jaws, allowing people posting comments to have a custom icon displayed next to their name
without having to register with your site.
Access Control
You can now set different levels of access to the control panel - letting trusted administrators configure the site, while others can only be allowed access to the functions they use, such as posting blog entries or photos.
